Frosty The Snowman
Saturday, December 12, 2009
No doubt, Christmas is a time when you take a step back at your life and realize how lucky we are and also WHO is so gracious enough to give us these blessings. But I think for me, each day I look at my little boys and know how lucky I am to have them in my life and even on the worst of days they always make me smile and melt my troubles away for the moment. Today I was watching them color, and they each are so amazingly different. Dillon was coloring a Christmas tree; he colored most of the ornaments on the tree red. One ornament he colored blue and the star on the top of the tree was blue-very particular and neat about what he was doing. Brenen was coloring a Christmas bear; with his left hand he colored red all over the page in no specific pattern-scribbles in every which way. But was so proud of his masterpiece! It's fun to watch them and see how creative each one is in their own special way! My laid back little Boos and my intense Mr. Dillon-I love them so much.

The monkeys loved decorating the Christmas tree this year; it was so much fun watching them pick where they wanted to put each ornament. As usual, we officially celebrated the beginning of our Christmas season with putting the jingle bell reindeer antlers on Hopper-he hates them-but it is so funny!!

"Water Washing"
I just have to note the cute little things the boys do and say. Today we were at Target and the boys wanted more water colors to paint with. When we found the water colors in the store Dillon said, "Mommy, we can water wash now, we can water wash now!" He calls water colors "water wash"! Brenen chimed in and was also excited to "water wash" as well. I had to take some pictures of the boys "water washing"! Such a cute moment!

Happy Day
The Happy Day party was a success. Jeremy barbecued some pulled pork and salmon they both were delicious. We had a good evening with friends and family. The boys were a little overwhelmed by present opening time, but had a good time anyway! Dillon fell asleep with his bubble lawn mower that night....we had to tuck it in with him and everything!! Thank you everyone for all your help and for coming and sharing the boys special day with them!

Dillon eating the frosting off a candle from his Happy Day cake!
Earlier in the day the boys helped Nana make their Happy Day cakes! You can see by the pictures that they were very into the cake making and baking! Thank you, Nana, for baking and decorating our Tigger and Pooh birthday cakes....they were amazing!!
Dillon licking cake batter off a spatula.
Brenen patiently watching as Nana added the ingredients in the mixer to make the cake batter.

Easter Bunny Day
The biggest boys riding the ponys and the Willowcreek Country Club Easter Brunch! The Easter Bunny made a stop not only at our house, but also at Papa Green's house and G.G.'s house...STRANGE! The boys hopped right on the ponys, but didn't want to have anything to do with the Easter Bunny when he came to visit at the brunch! Poor bunny.
Whoa, Mr. Dillon Thomas!
Giddy up, Tigger Boos!
Dying the Easter eggs....we only broke three!!

With peanut butter all over our face; we are happy and very busy little boys! We are the biggest boys and are using the potty now; mommy and daddy couldn't be happier! They also keep a nice stash of potty treats too! We love helping mommy in the kitchen (our favorite recipes are on the bottom of this blog page) and don't go a morning without stirring our own "chocolate 'n'ilk". It has been nice to play outside on our fire trucks and Diego big wheels and we absolutely love taking mommy's measuring cups and spoons out in the backyard and digging in the dirt(she wasn't too thrilled about that). We turn 3 next month and are not sure what we want to do for our "happy day" party yet. When Mommy is at work we take advantage of that time to turn the house upside down and drive Daddy crazy with our little fights over a crayon or a block! Busy, busy boys is what we are!

"Fast" Sledding
We took advantage of the new snowfall and did some sledding at the park across the street from our house today! The boys loved it and wanted to go "fast" again and again! Hopper was chasing us as we slid down the hill-crazy dog! We had our sweet Mia Kei with us as well; she patiently helped the boys down the hill each time. It was a beautiful day to be outside!

New Beginnings
We wish you all a Happy New Year and hope it brings you good health and happiness. Already, for us,this year has started out better than last. We are still trying to get settled here in Salt Lake City. It has been nice to have a fresh start and I know eventually we will have everything in "place"! It really seemed that life was pointing us in a new direction for a long time; we just chose not to listen. We look forward to the challenge of new beginnings despite how difficult it may seem at the time. The monkeys are getting bigger by the day and continue to amaze us with all the new things they say and do. At 2 1/2 they know exactly what they want and how they want it done! They are very busy little boys; always getting into some kind of mischief. But not a day goes by that we don't realize how lucky we are and how beautiful our baby boys are. They make "our world" go 'round! There are so many blessings to be counted. Again, we wish you all the best in '09.
Much love,
